Chi Tau Epsilon Honor Society for Dance was established at TCU in 1967. Since that time, members of XTE have been leaders in the department and the university, modeling excellence in performance, choreography and dance studies. The Alpha chapter of XTE focuses on creating community in the department, dance outreach, and promoting dance at every turn. Long time projects include the AIDS Benefit Concert, a collaborative concert XTE organizes and produces yearly with students in theatre, music and the visual arts. Footnotes - a Q&A facilitated by XTE members at intermission during faculty/guest artist concerts each fall and spring - is a popular offering among parents and patrons. XTE also organizes the “Brown Bag” performances held once each semester in the Studio B Theatre.
Each fall, XTE members design ways for upper classmen to interact with incoming majors, welcoming them into our community. These activities include a Thanksgiving dinner held just before break. Each spring, the members organize a banquet for the entire department, during which all seniors are recognized for their accomplishments and new officers and members are announced.
